TRUST IN GOD!

 Hezekiah Trusted in God

II Kings 18:5: He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.

Trust is precious.  Trust is honorable.  Trust can be easily abandoned in the face of adversity.  Trust is a necessity.

Greatness is an outcome of trust.  Hezekiah had greatness.  Hezekiah had trust.

When kingdoms all around him fell to the sword, he trusted in God.  When other leaders chose the way of other gods, he trusted in God.  When his father provided bad example, he trusted in God.  When he was threatened to his face with eminent destruction, he trusted in God.  When disease racked his body and took him to the edge of death, he trusted in God.  He trusted in God.

RESPOND WITH ACTION: What challenges your trust in God?  What in life assaults you so heavily that you would consider not trusting in God?  Size it up.  Is is bigger than God?

PRAY WITH FAITH: God, we are not content.  We are content to let life’s challenges delay Your greatness in our lives.  It is not our greatness that we pursue.  It is Your greatness revealed to men and women and children that we pursue.  It is a greatness found solely in trust in You that we pursue.  Let us not be ashamed.  Let not our enemies triumph over us.  Cause us to come to the river of trust in You.  Let all around us say of us, “They trusted in the Lord God and there were none like them before or since.”    Let the testimony of our lives be that of Jesus that the people are amazed at the authority with which we act for we trust in God.
