PRAYER FOCUS and FAQS
What is a Dads of Destiny Group?
These small groups of dedicated men are now meeting all over the city. Sponsored by men in congregations, they need your prayer support to succeed in changing our metro for Christ.
Pray for effective studies, great fellowship, and changed lives.
Pray for each congregation listed to be 100x more effective than ever before in reaching men with the Gospel of Jesus.
Can I join one if I did not go to the seminar?
Absolutely. We want you to. Of course, you need to be a dad.
Can a divorced dad or stepdad come?
We are here for you. After divorce, 40% of dads lose contact with their kids in a few short months. That is a tragedy that does not need to happen. Your kids need you and this group will help you be a great dad to them on an ongoing basis.
Stepdads are really important to kids. Get involved and be the best you can be.
Can I just show up?
We would rather you contacted the facilitator first. This is a serious and life-changing study that requires commitment and involvement. We want you to succeed from the very beginning to completion and for your years as a dad.
What if I can't find a group?
Let me help you. More will be starting. Out of each of these groups, we expect new groups to form. We will find a place for you.

Where else can I get help for the men's ministry and me as a man?
There are many helps ministries in the OKC metro designed to assist men in being Godly men. Go to our ministry resource page for these and more

Dads of Destiny Groups........
REPORTS FROM THE FIELD
posted 10/14
Dave Mehlhaff Oklahoma's Top Gun Dad
Probably the biggest blessing is taking place on the first and third Friday of each month at 6:30 AM at Western Hills Baptist Church in OKC. Men come together at that time to pray for the fathering initiative in Oklahoma. Come and join us! We're working on "OK Dads", a ministry to push the fathering initiative. We are blessed each time we hear of a Dads of Destiny study which is either wrapping up or just beginning. God is good. We're also working on 7 Secrets seminars in Bartlesville, South Dakota, Lawton, Eastwood Baptist, and at Southgate Baptist in OKC. Doug Brewer, Pastor at Southgate "gets it". He's hot on the trail of the fathing initiative. I pray that every pastor in OKC and OK develops the same passion and initiative as God has given him. Met with Mart Green from Mardel after viewing the preview of the documentary "Beyond the Gates of Splendor". Again, I came away with some good insights. Met with Wes Lane the other day to explain what could happen through the courts whereby fathers who are not paying child support can choose "Connecting With Your Kids" (secular version of 7 Secrets) as an option against going to jail or being fined, etc. He gave me some good contacts-of those, one was a judge.

Phil thank you for your e-mail. It is encouraging to know that I have the support of my brothers. Our first Dads of Destiny group had our 13th meeting (a family get together) this past Sunday afternoon. It was a great way to end a great study. I have challenged the men to lead groups of their own, pledging my support. I have not heard from any of the men yet. I am planning on following up on the 7th of October. Any suggestions on encouraging my men to lead would be appreciated. I have been praying that Holy Spirit will inspire the men of my group. Thank you again for your prayers. your brother Steve Logan

Phil: Just an update on my Dads of Destiny group. We started 14 weeks ago with myself and 5 young fathers. We ended last Thursday evening (we had to skip a couple of summer weeks for vacation) and all 5 of the dads made at least 10 (most made all 12) of the meetings. They all memorized and quoted in the group all of the verses - Psalm 103 and Eph. 3:14-19. We are getting together with all of our wives on Saturday, Aug. 21 to celebrate the completion of the course. I will recognize each of them verbally, give them a personal note that I have written to each of them, pray for them, and then hand off the baton encouraging them to continue to run the race and not drop the stick. It was a great study. Thank you for being instrumental in bringing it to OKC and making the materials available. I firmly believe that those 5 dads are forever changed and committed to being godly husbands and fathers for the long haul. Thanks again, Josh Bullard
Phil:
I just wanted to let you know that our group is off to a good start. We
met with all the wives (and the children were hanging out/playing) and
filled out all the PFP's and then I overviewed the study with all of them.
We met for our first week this Tuesday and had a great time. We did all
that was outlined for the week but some highlight were when all of the
guys shared their family tree, quoted their memory verses, and then
prayed for one of the men. What a great evening!

Prayer Requests
Pray for ongoing initiative in schools and churches to get formed and begin moving forward.
Pray for Spanish translation going on in Mexico City right now. Elizabeth Martinez, who lived with Phil and his family for two years in OKC, is doing the work. Elizabeth calls Phil, Dad. She was trained for ministry by Phil and other ministers while living in our home and returned to co-pastor with her brother at the church pastored by their father. There are churches in OKC and Houston waiting on the materials.
Pray for Bruce at True Vine - seeking co-laborers in ministry to assist in this outreach and others.
Send us your personal request now so we can pray for you.
